women at the helm.

Founded in 2019 by producer, performer, writer and director Lila DupreeLady Ship Productions is a female-centric screen and stage production company that develops and produces unique stories from emerging writers and creators.

By investigating a story's power to spark dialogue and unite diverse groups, Lady Ship strives to champion undersung narratives that further our search for identity, understanding and equality.

Founder Lila Dupree also happens to be a licensed 100-Ton Captain in the U.S. Merchant Marine and, in another life, drove old wooden ferry boats on the coast of Maine.

Lady Ship's inaugural production, Big Sur is a darkly comedic drama short that explores the myriad ways grief transforms and haunts us.

Big Sur follows Faye on the eve of her 40th anniversary, as she and her husband return to the beloved place they eloped to many years before.

An examination of the legacy of mental illness, Big Sur sheds light and understanding on a subject still shadowed by the stigma of taboo and shame.
